Aruna Giri

Aruna facilitates meditation retreats throughout the year and is a practitioner of the healing modalities Integral Energetics (IE) and Structural Integration (SI), with a full-time practice in the city of Melbourne.

Aruna’s interest in the spiritual re-ignited in 1991 during a mountaineering trip to the Indian Himalayas. He recognised that his life was full of stress and suffering, lacking genuine contentment and happiness. To be present consciously moment to moment seemed impossible due to strong identifcation with emotion and thought. Fueled by the pain of this inner turmoil his quest led him to meditation that he practiced daily for 5 years. During this time he also explored other transformative therapies and trained in Structural Integration and Remedial Massage. These therapies along with the foundation of meditation freed and dissolved many layers of accumulated mental and emotional conditioning from the past.

In 1997 in the U.S.A, Aruna had an awakening that revealed and continues to reveal the essential nature, that can be described as an eternal presence, always shining moment to moment, that is boundless and has no centre and is untouched by change or death. From 2001 to 2005 Aruna spent large amounts of time in India, Nepal and Tibet where he had meetings with spiritual teachers and spent time meditating at various pilgrimage sites.

Aruna has been practising bodywork and energetic healing work since 1993 and has been teaching meditation since 2007. He has completed training in Integral Energetics, Structural Integration, Remedial Massage, VM, Craniosacral Therapy, Polarity Therapy, Enneagram and various other forms of healing.

Aruna lives in Melbourne with his wife and son.

Ten years of dreams in the forest.
Now on the lake’s edge laughing,
Laughing a new laugh.
