Mindfulness and meditation allows for inner inquiry into the functioning and nature of mind and body, thoughts and emotions, life force and breath. Awareness is the key to unlock the restrictions, limitations, pain and suffering caused by the thinking mind and emotional reactivity. Conceptual distortion and emotional reactivity obscures the innate peace and freedom that we all possess, our essential true nature. It’s like the clouds (thoughts) obscuring the sun (peace and freedom). The sky is awareness.
True meditation is effortless and happens when one’s awareness is being aware of itself. This awakening is a coming Home to our true nature. “It” is unchanging, unceasing, unmistaken, uncontrived, cognisant, acausal, primordial and non-conceptual.
Awareness is so easily overlooked as It is not a thing or an object. It is like space which is empty and limitless but unlike space It is aware of itself.
Awareness, being primordial and unceasing, is always here and now. It is timeless and eternal with qualities of peace, freedom and clarity. Awareness is the Essential You!
